ITINERARY - 6 Days Gorilla tour, chimpanzee & wildlife safari

DAY 1.Transfer to Queen Elizabeth.
After your breakfast you will travel to south western Uganda. Lunch en route Mbarara and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National park, relax in the ecening at the pool side as you waif for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (high-end), Ihamba Safari Lodge (deluxe), King Fisher Lodge (budget).

 

DAY 2. Game drive and Boat Cruise.
A cup of coffee / tea and head for a morning game drive around the park to see elephants, leopards, lions to mention but a few. Return to the hotel for breakfast and relaxation as you are waiting for lunch. Go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel to view the Hippos, crocodiles, Buffaloes and various species of birds. Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (high-end), Ihamba Safari Lodge (deluxe), King Fisher Lodge (budget).

 

DAY 3. Chimp tracking and nature walk.
After breakfast, you will head to Kyambura gorge to track chimpanzees. Return to the hotel for lunch and rest.  You then take a nature walk in Maramagambo forest where you will see various primates and birds. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (high-end), Ihamba Safari Lodge (deluxe), King Fisher Lodge (budget).

 

DAY 4. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Have breakfast and drive to Bwindi through Ishasha where you will see Tree-climbing lions. Lunch at Ishasha wilderness Camp and proceed to Ishasha River to view the crocodiles, hippos, bushbucks among others. Then continue to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla forest camp, Silverback Lodge or Buhoma community rest camp.

 

DAY 5.Gorilla tracking in the Forest
Enjoy your early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch to be briefed about the “dos and don’ts” when you are with gorillas. Penetrate the Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi in search for these Gentle Giants, taking 2-8 hours depending on their movement. Sight and stay is one hour maximum for observation and photographing. Time permitting, enjoy a remarkable nature walk in the Batwa community (pygmies). Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge on DAY 4.

 

DAY 6. Transfer to Kampala.
Take your morning breakfast; you will then drive back to Kampala. Lunch en route in Mbarara town and make a stopover at the equator for photography. Proceed to the airport for your flight back home.
