18 Days Gorilla Tour in Uganda, Wildlife Safari, Primates Trekking - Uganda Tour
Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Uganda - Entebbe Airport
At Entebbe International Airport, be welcomed by our company representative then transfer you to your hotel in Kampala Cassia Lodge / Mamba point for an overnight.
Day 2 : Transfer to Murchison falls National Park (4-6hrs)
After breakfast, depart for Murchison Falls National Park arriving in the afternoon. Overnight at Luxurious Paraa Safari Lodge / Sambiya River lodge.
Day 3 : Chimpanzee Trekking in Kaniyo Pabidi Ecotourism Site
After breakfast, we will go for a morning Chimpanzee tracking in Kaniyo Pabidi Forest seeing many forest birds, including the chocolates-backed Kingfisher, the white-thigh hornbill and puvel's illadopsis found nowhere else in East Africa. Dinner and Overnight at a Paraa Safari Lodge / Sambiya River lodge.
Day 4: Game drive & Launch cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls
Enjoy a game drive in the morning and an afternoon launch / boat cruise. Dinner and overnight at a Luxurious Paraa Safari Lodge / Sambiya River lodge.
Day 5 : Transfer to Kibale forest (7hrs)
Depart for Kibale Primates park in preparation for the chimp tracking in the following morning. Overnight at a luxurious Ndali Lodge / Mountains of the moon Hotel.
Day 6 : Chimpanzee Tracking, Nature walk to Bigodi Swamps
Chimps trekking in the morning, have lunch then in the evening enjoy Bigodi swamp walk. Overnight at a luxurious Ndali Lodge / Mountains of the moon Hotel.
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park (3-5hrs)
After breakfast, depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Enjoy an afternoon boat cruise . This boat ride will take you through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Institute of Ecology.
Day 8: Wild Chimp Trek in Kyambura Gorge, Maramagambo forest walk
After breakfast, go for chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge. Expecting to see various primates most especially Chimpanzee of different species, Black and white Colobus monkeys and other animals like antelopes, hyenas, Lion and many others. Have lunch, then in the afternoon go for a nature walk in Maramagambo Forest to see other primates and visit the bat cave and the blue lake. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Simba Safari Camp (FB)
Day 9: Game drive and Launch cruise
An early morning game drive in this park, provide excellent opportunities to see Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hogs, Cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topi and Bush bucks and many more…. After lunch, emabrk on teh afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel, famous for the highest concentration of hippos in Africa with huge Nile crocodiles and 611 bird species. Over night at Mweya Safari Lodge/Budget Institute of ecology.
Day 10: Ishasha Tree-lions spotting - Transfer to Bwindi Gorilla Park
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest going through Ishasha viewing the tree climbing lions. Overnight at Gorilla Resort /Buhoma Community Rest camp.
Day 11: Gorilla Tracking Adventure
Take your breakfast, then report to the ranger station at 08.00 am where the guides will take you through the forest to track gorillas. If you have the afternoon free, you will take a guided village walk / enjoy Batwa cultural dance. Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma community Rest camp.
Day 12: Lake Bunyonyi Canoeing
After breakfast, depart to Lake Bunyonyi. This large and erratically shaped lake lies at an altitude of approximately 2000m, where it follows the contours of the hilly terrain that separates the towns of Kabale and Kisoro. It is a very scenic spot, dotted with small islands and ringed by steeped terraced hills. Bunyonyi means “place of little birds” and it is particularly good for water birds. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Camp.
Day 13: Connect to Lake Mburo National Park
Enjoy a canoe ride in the morning then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park where you will take a boat cruise in the afternoon. Overnight at Mantana Camp/UWA Bandas at Rwonyo.
Day 14: Game drive and depart for Kampala
Have an early morning game drive through the park, have lunch enroute in Masaka Town, stopping along the Equator for a photographic opportunity as well as an informative talk then proceed to Kampala for your overnight at Kampala Lodge / Cassia Lodge .
Day 15: Jinja City tour - Source of Nile, Bijagali falls
Have a guided Jinja city tour visiting the source of the Nile . Drive back to Kampala then have your overnight stay at Mamba Point guest House/ Cassia Lodge.
Day 16: Kampala City & Cultural Tour
After your breakfast, have a guided Kampala city tour visiting different cultural sites and other touristic attractions in the city. Visit the local craft shops(optional) for personal souvenirs. Overnight at Mamba Point guest House/ Cassia Lodge.
Day 17: Visit Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
At 7.00am drive to Ngamba Island, you will be driven to the shores of Lake Victoria to meet your 9.00am launch. The boat takes about 45 minutes across to Ngamba Island, crossing the Equator en-route to see the chimpanzees. Overnight at Ngamba Island Camp .
Day 18: Reserved for departure
After breakfast, you will return to the main land where you will meet your safari guide who will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport to meet your flight back home.
